Sorting research support items on EGMS NIH biosketches
(New to EGMS on 1/25/02)
The new NIH PHS 398 and 2590 applications (Rev. 05/01) now required by NIH include a new format for the biosketch. NIH provides a sample of the new biosketch at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/phs398/biosketchsample.pdf (see pages 3-5). Among its changes, the biosketch for any PHS 398 and 2590 application includes a new research support section. The sample biosketch shows such research support information grouped under headings, first for ongoing projects and then for completed projects.
The NIH instructions also request that research support information, for both ongoing and completed projects, be ordered on the biosketch beginning with the projects that are most relevant to the application. EGMS has been upgraded to allow sorting of the research support listing in the biosketch to emphasize relevance to the application. You cannot set the order directly in the Biosketch subsection. Instead, set the order in the Other Support Database prior to using its data in the Biosketch subsection of an EGMS proposal.
To customize the order of the research support listing in an EGMS NIH proposal biosketch:
Click on a down arrow to move the associated data set down one position.
Click on an up arrow to move the associated data set up one position.
For that individual, the research support listing in the biosketch reflects the order of the data sets as they have been sorted in the Other Support Database. The listing is grouped by status, with all active and then all completed projects listed separately.
In addition to sorting by relevance, you may choose which of the projects to include, using the checkboxes in the Biosketch subsection.
