EGMS training and support are available through several resources:

Electronic Options
QuickHelp is a system of pop-up screens designed to answer screen-specific questions as a proposal is being developed, without requiring navigation between windows to access information. Look for the QuickHelp logo in the bottom left corner of your EGMS screen.

EGMS Practice Site This site, available through a link on the EGMS Home Page, is a place to examine EGMS and develop a practice proposal, while keeping the official EGMS site reserved for proposals in development for submission to sponsors. The EGMS Practice site is refreshed daily, meaning data entered on one day will not remain in the system for the next day. Do not prepare real proposals for submission on this site.

E-mail Assistance Questions and comments regarding the use of EGMS e-mailed to help@egms.umn.edu will be answered by the EGMS helpline staff.

Supporting Materials
The EGMS UserGuide describes the use of each of the EGMS databases and how to use them to prepare a proposal or Proposal Routing Form. A pdf version of the UserGuide is available by clicking on the UserGuide logo on the left.

EGMS REPA Preview Web site This informational Web site, first published in November 2002 and updated in August 2003, describes the new EGMS REPA (Report of External Professional Activities) form first used by faculty and staff in the fall of 2002 to report external activities and interests. Use this site to examine the REPA form's design and preparation process and the wording of the REPA's questions.
